For the 14th time, laser manufacturers and users from various industries will meet at the biennial AKL – International Laser Technology Congress. With 81 speakers and 52 companies at the accompanying exhibition, the AKL has established itself as the leading forum for applied laser technology in production in Europe.
The European Commission, Arbeitskreis Lasertechnik e.V., European Laser Institute and OptecNet as well as the industry associations SPECTARIS, VDA, VDMA, VDI and the European Photonics Industry Consortium EPIC support the forum as conceptual sponsors.
Benefit from the internationality of the AKL with simultaneous translation into German and English. You can also take advantage of the conference environment to learn more about the latest technological findings in numerous live demonstrations by the Fraunhofer ILT and the companies of the User Center.

Innovation Award
The 10,000 € doped “Innovation Award Laser Technology” is an European research prize awarded every other year by the associations Arbeitskreis Lasertechnik e.V. and the European Laser Institute ELI. The award can be conferred on an individual researcher or on an entire project group, whose exceptional skills and dedicated work have led to an outstanding innovation in the field of laser technology. The scientific and technological projects in question must center on the use of laser light in materials processing and the methods of producing such light, and must, furthermore, be of demonstrable commercial value to industry.
The award ceremony will take place at the festive event of the International Laser Technology Congress AKL in the Coronation Hall of Aachen City Hall.
