Flow Science Deutschland GmbH is responsible for sales and support of the FLOW-3D product line in Germany, Austria, Switzerland, the BeNeLux, and Scandinavia.

FLOW-3D is a software for the numerical simulation of fluid flow (Computational Fluid Dynamics, CFD). The version FLOW-3D WELD simulates welding processes for laser and electron beams and different additive manufacturing processes such as LPBF and DED.

The simulation yields insights into the welding processes which are very hard to obtain experimentally, for example, a detailed view of the transient fluid flow and temperature distribution in the melt pool. Furthermore, the simulation enables a quick sensitivity analysis and optimization of various process parameters, which results in a robust process with fewer experiments.
