For the 13th time, laser manufacturers and laser users from various branches met at the biannual AKL – International Laser Technology Congress. Featuring over 520 participants, 85 speakers and over 40 companies at the accompanying Sponsors‘ Exhibition, the AKL has established itself as the leading forum for applied laser technology in Europe.
Supporting organizations include European Commission, Arbeitskreis Lasertechnik e.V., European Laser Institute, OptecNet as well as industrial associations such as SPECTARIS, VDA, VDMA, VDI and the European Photonics Consortium EPIC.

Innovationsaward
The 10,000 € doped “Innovation Award Laser Technology” is an European research prize awarded every other year by the associations Arbeitskreis Lasertechnik e.V. and the European Laser Institute ELI. The award can be conferred on an individual researcher or on an entire project group, whose exceptional skills and dedicated work have led to an outstanding innovation in the field of laser technology. The scientific and technological projects in question must center on the use of laser light in materials processing and the methods of producing such light, and must, furthermore, be of demonstrable commercial value to industry.
The Award Ceremony will take place at the Evening Event of the next AKL in the Coronation Hall of Aachen’s Town Hall.
